The European stock market closed on a positive note on Monday, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index rising by 0.75% to reach 446.62^1^. The FTSE 100 index also experienced gains, increasing by 0.89% to reach 7,425.83^2^. Other major European indexes also saw growth, with the German DAX gaining 0.73% and the French CAC 40 adding 0.60%^3^.

Siemens Energy AG, an industrial goods company, saw the largest increase among the Stoxx Europe 600 constituents. Its shares rose by 6.0%^4^. Insurance firm Phoenix Group Holdings PLC and investing/securities company Adyen N.V. also performed well, with their shares increasing by 5.7% and 5.6% respectively^5^.

Genmab A/S and Ambu A/S Series B, both health care/life sciences companies, rounded out the top five largest increases. Their stocks gained 4.9% and 4.8% respectively^6^.

On the other hand, health care/life sciences company Orpea S.A. saw the largest decline among the Stoxx Europe 600 constituents, with its shares falling by 14.5% on Monday^7^. Dr. Martens PLC and Samhaellsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden AB Series B also experienced losses, with their stocks dropping by 8.8% and 8.4% respectively^8^.

Technology company Sinch AB and energy company Uniper SE were among the top five largest decreases, with their stocks weakening by 5.4% and 5.2% respectively^9^.

In currency markets, the pound was up 0.33% against the dollar, while the euro rose by 0.14%^10^. Brent crude saw a notable increase of 1.54%, reaching $82.68^11^.

The yield on the 10-year gilt declined by 1.11 basis points to 4.321%^12^. Meanwhile, the yield on the German 10-year bund fell by 0.160 basis points to 2.72%^13^.
