The composite Thailand SET Index SET declined 0.1% to 1,379.64, reflecting a downward trend in Thailand stocks on Thursday.

Declining Stocks

Thachang Green Energy TGE, a firm, experienced the largest decline, with shares plunging 17.9%. Following closely was Eastern Polymer Group EPG, a basic materials/resources company, which saw a drop of 4.5%. KCE Electronics KCE, an industrial goods company, also witnessed a decrease of 4.0%.

Leading Stocks

Super Turtle TURTLE, a media/entertainment company, emerged as the top leader during the session, with shares gaining 7.5%. Sky ICT SKY, a business/consumer services firm, showed significant growth, increasing by 5.3%. Global Power Synergy GPSC, operating in the space, secured a spot as one of the top three leaders on Thursday with shares rising 4.9%.

Southeast Asia Market Overview

Other parts of Southeast Asia also experienced fluctuations in their markets. Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index STI dropped 0.1%, while Malaysia's FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI fell 0.8%. The Philippines' PSEi Index dropped 0.9%, whereas Indonesia's JSX Composite Index gained 0.7%.

Asia-Pacific Market Overview

In the Asia-Pacific region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.8%, while Japan's NIKKEI 225 Index remained flat. China's Shanghai Composite Index also showed a positive trend, rising by 0.4%.

South Korea's KOSPI Composite Index gained 0.2%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index dropped by 0.6%.

Currency Update

On the currency front, the U.S. dollar fell 0.1% against the Thai baht, settling at 35.57. Conversely, the euro strengthened by 0.1%, reaching 38.77 baht.
