Google Cloud has announced its collaboration with Accenture to establish a joint business unit called the AI Center of Excellence. This partnership aims to assist Fortune 500 companies in adopting generative AI technology to enhance their operations, develop new business opportunities, and create innovative customer experiences. With the ability to provide artificial intelligence services to over 1,000 large enterprises rapidly, the AI Center of Excellence will empower businesses by offering technical expertise and product resources utilizing Google Cloud's generative-AI portfolio.

The AI Center of Excellence will be staffed by a team of thousands of engineers, industry experts, and solutions architects, ensuring quick implementation of generative-AI projects for enterprise customers. According to Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, the establishment of this CoE is prompted by the remarkable advancements of these AI models. "Once you're on the train, you can't jump off of AI," Kurian emphasized.

This collaboration between Google and Accenture marks the latest in a long-standing series of partnerships. The primary objective is to enable enterprises to build large language models effectively, with the ability to leverage Google's latest generative-AI model, Gemini. Unlike its predecessor, ChatGPT, Gemini stands out as a robust AI model that comprehends not only text but also images, videos, and audio.

The Gemini Pro API was made available on Wednesday, providing users with access to the powerful capabilities of this AI model. Additionally, Gemini Ultra is expected to be generally available in early 2024, following its private preview phase.

Accenture CEO Julie Sweet expressed her clients' desire to implement AI technology swiftly and responsibly. Closing the gap between the potential of AI and its responsible utilization is a key focus for Accenture. "What our clients want is to move fast and execute responsibly," Sweet affirmed.

With this strategic partnership, Google Cloud and Accenture aim to revolutionize the enterprise landscape by leveraging generative AI technology to drive innovation, efficiency, and customer-centric solutions.
